GPRS: Internet Chat while on the Move

a friend of mine sent me this link -> wap.mig33.com. I visited www.mig33.com and they also have sms and voice calls offerings that I think could be quite cheap but I haven't tried them out yet.

You can chat via Yahoo and MSN from your mobile phone.. I've tried it out and it's absolutely cool! No need to have a comp to do IM now :) - chat while traveling on a long bus trip or while waiting for a refund cheque....

My next phone I suspect will be geared to mobile internet - chat.. sports.. games.. the works/
Just hope they'll integrate GMail which shouldn't be too hard for them since it's Jabber based..
Meanwhile for Gtalk - there's MGTalk available from http://mgtalk.sourceforge.net/

I find Celtel's GPRS more reliable than Safaricom's which keeps timing out alot.

If u need more help with that i could give u some pointers...

I've tried this on a Nokia 6610i using Safaricom.

Nice! Thx for sharing.

Isn't Celtels GPRS more expensive than Safaricom's? Kshs. 12,60 vs 20/=?

True. Safaricom's GPRS service is cheaper... but i find Celtel's much more reliable.. but on a mobile phone .. 10 bob goes a long way when using the net.

I have used mig33 for a while, its a brilliant service aside for a few problems when their network gets busy and you get logged off, i would recommend it. The Safaricom GPRS which still strangely goes on hiatus after 10pm most nights, provide satisfactory service. If you wish to make further savings on a quality service, consider Celtel's post paid which is around 8 bob if you exceed a pre set level of mb's.

I have also noticed that Safaricom's GPRS also goes to sleep once in a while.

I've tried out mig33 on a Mozorola RAZR as well. Looks even better.

I just got a data plan on my mobile. I pretty much do not need my computer anymore since I do so much with my mobile phone. The neatest thing is that I can even watch naughty movies:) It is pretty neat, it's called Mobile TV. All I do is point my phone to sexoncell.com and they have adult mobile movies in different formats like 3gp movies, symbian, pda or whatever. If you have any other cool sites, please let me know! This one, though, even has a free daily mobile movie.
